ABOUT US

The Club was originally formed in 1991, when a few hardy souls, headed by Steve Birch began organising travel to Highbury. The Club grew and gained enough members to run a coach to home games and then to some away games also.

I started travelling with Steve and others in 1992 and got involved in the running of the Club in 1993, being responsible for the travel arrangements. Steve Birch had handed over the reins of organising tickets and the financial side to other persons, though remained a member. Things by and large went well and the Club was solvent and had approximately 100 members. The Club began to decline in 2002 and the Club got into financial trouble. at the end of the 2002 / 2003 season, a meeting was held between those involved in the running of the Club, and the then Secretary and Treasurer resigned. The Club had assets at the end of that season for one reason or another of £1.72.

During the close season in 2003, a note was sent out by me to all members explaining the problems and that the Club would fold if we did not come up with a financial package. A meeting was held in the Eight Belles Public House in Bletchley in June of that year, to which all members were invited. 42 members turned up. Everyone attending wanted the Club to continue, so a Committee was elected consisting of Chairman, Russell Keene, Secretary, Tracy Beesley, Treasurer, John Smith and Committee members Brian Weston, Tony Grant, Andy Dorans, Chris Armstrong, Scott Harrington, Steve Digby and Jem Maidment. Jason Wells joined the Committee in 2004. Details of the Committee were forwarded to Arsenal and we became an official Supporters Club in 2003. Tickets were hard to come by at first, as we only had 20 Silver members and 2 Season Ticket holders. The Club has grown, and we now have over 70 Silver members and run coaches to all games, home and away and have 150+ members at this time.
